One of my goals for the year is to communicate findings of my research and ideas around renewable energy and the wider community. While I've been enjoying writing my personal blog my audience is typically limited to friends at uni (who are incredibly supportive!). With this in mind, I decided to look at other options for communicating my ideas. One of my favourite website covering energy issues is The Energy Collective, a US-based energy specialist blogging platform. I'm very pleased to announce that I have been accepted as an approved blogger for the site and this week published my first blog post.
My blog post considers the extent to which householders installing solar systems can be considered a 'democratisation' of the energy sector, and identifies that in order to maximise energy savings and benefits from embedded generation utilities must work with householders. The post received an excellent reception via the Energy Collective's twitter feed.
I look forward to writing my next blog post!
